The IEEE Quantum Week program will feature scheduled BoF Sessions addressing timely topics of interest on Quantum Computing and Engineering. BoF sessions are lively discussions of 30-45 minutes and are scheduled between the main 90-minutes conference sessions.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>For more information, please consult\u00a0last year\u2019s conference program:\u00a0\u00a0<a style=\"background-color: #ffffff\" href=\"https:\/\/ieeecsqce.wpengine.com\/2023\/bofs-program\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">QCE23 Birds-of Feather (BoF) Sessions<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ieeecsqce.wpengine.com\/2023\/bofs-program\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">QCE23 Final Conference Program<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 style=\"font-family: -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, 'Segoe UI', Roboto, 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, 'Noto Sans', sans-serif;color: #333333\">Contact<\/h3>\n<ul style=\"font-size: 16px;background-color: #ffffff\">\n<li style=\"font-size: 16px\"><b>BoF Co-Chairs:<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-size: 16px\"><b>Natalie Brown,\u00a0Quantinuum<\/b> \u2014\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:Natalie.Brown@quantinuum.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Natalie.Brown@quantinuum.com<\/a><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-size: 16px\"><b>Reena Dayal,\u00a0Quantum Ecosystems Technology Council of India (QUETCI)<\/b> \u2014\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:reena@qetci.org\">reena@qetci.org<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\n\n\n<\/p>\n<h3>Proposal Evaluation Criteria<\/h3>\n<p>Birds-of-Feather session proposals are accepted according to the following evaluation criteria:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The potential of the BoF to stimulate discussion on quantum computing and engineering research and practice<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-size: 16px\">Expected interest in the BoF\u2019s topic among people in the quantum computing and engineering communities \u2014 creating excitement and drawing an audience<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-size: 16px\">The credibility of the organizers across several dimensions including knowledge, experience, constructiveness, diversity\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Interactive nature of the BoF\u2019s format; will there be interaction with audience<\/li>\n<li>Experience and ability of the BoF\u2019s proposers and moderator to organize a highly interactive and stimulating BoF<\/li>\n<li>Balance and synergy of the BoF with respect to IEEE Quantum Week 2024 events<\/li>\n<li>Abstract of the proposal should be clear, complete, and articulate and ready for publication on the IEEE Quantum Week 2024 website<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\u00a0\n<h3>BoF Proposal Submission Format<\/h3>\n<p>Each BoF\u00a0proposal must conform at the time of submission to the\u00a0<a style=\"font-size: 1rem;background-color: #ffffff\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ieee.org\/conferences\/publishing\/templates.html\">IEEE Formatting Instructions<\/a>\u00a0(i.e., title in 24pt font and full text in 10pt type, LaTEX users must use documentclass[10pt,conference]{IEEEtran} without including the compsoc or compsocconf option). The submission must also comply with the\u00a0<a style=\"font-size: 1rem;background-color: #ffffff\" href=\"https:\/\/journals.ieeeauthorcenter.ieee.org\/become-an-ieee-journal-author\/publishing-ethics\/\">IEEE Policy on Authorship<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Each BoF proposal must include the following sections in one PDF file and in the order specified below. Sections 1-8 must not exceed three (3) pages. Each proposal must be submitted via the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/easychair.org\/conferences\/?conf=qce23\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>EasyChair submission website<\/b><\/a>. The call for papers and proposals can also be found on\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/easychair.org\/cfp\/QCE23\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>EasyChair CFP<\/b><\/a>.\u00a0Please submit\u00a0ONE PDF file\u00a0that includes all components of the proposal.<\/p>\n<p>Each proposal must include the following sections, in the order specified below:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><b>BoF title<\/b>\u00a0\u2014 descriptive and attractive to potential participants.<\/li>\n<li><b>BoF abstract<\/b> \u2014 200-250 words to be posted on QCE24 website.<\/li>\n<li><b style=\"background-color: transparent\">BoF authors\u00a0<\/b>\u2014 Contact information for all BoF organizers, <b style=\"background-color: transparent\">main BoF contact, BoF moderator.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>BoF motivation and objectives<\/b> \u2014 how will this BoF engage the audience and how will the audience benefit.<\/li>\n<li><b>BoF relevance<\/b> \u2014 relevance to the fields of quantum computing and\/or quantum engineering (e.g., relate to QCE24 topics).<\/li>\n<li><b>BoF proposal<\/b> \u2014 detailed BoF proposal and\/or position statements.<\/li>\n<li><b>BoF audience<\/b> \u2014 what is the target audience \u2014 ideally a mix of participation from industry, government, and academia.<\/li>\n<li><b>BoF biographies<\/b> \u2014 brief biography of each organizer \u2014\u00a0200-250\u00a0words per organizer\u00a0to be posted on the QCE24 website.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-size: 16px\">BoF\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ieeecsqce.wpengine.com\/2023\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2023\/03\/QCE23-Consent-and-Release-Form.pdf\">consent and media release form<\/a>\u00a0\u2014 required upon acceptance BoF proposal for all BoF panelists. This form is important for hybrid and virtual meetings in order to broadcast the sessions.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3 style=\"font-family: -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, 'Segoe UI', Roboto, 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, 'Noto Sans', sans-serif;color: #333333\">Important BoF Proposal Submission Requirements<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-size: 16px\">All participants, including BoF organizers, invited speakers, and invited guests, must register for the IEEE Quantum Week 2024.
