Call for Student Volunteers

IEEE Quantum Week 2026 kindly invites graduate students with interests in the topics of the IEEE International Conference on Quantum Computing and Engineering (QCE26) to apply for two full days of volunteering for QCE26 in exchange for a highly discounted full registration to the conference.

  • QCE26 will be held in person, with a virtual component, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. As a hybrid event, we are broadcasting the sessions to virtual participants and recording the sessions for QCE On-Demand after the main event ends on September 18.
  • IEEE Quantum Week 2026 will feature 16-18 parallel program tracks per day over six days — Sunday, September 13 through Friday, September 18, 2026.
  • QCE26 needs approximately 65 student volunteers to effectively run the 100+ hybrid tracks as well as the registration desk, exhibits & posters hall.
 

For volunteering for two full days (9:30-17:15) at QCE26, a student volunteer will receive a highly discounted QCE26 complete registration.

To apply as a student volunteer, please fill out the Student Volunteer Application Signup Form and submit the form via the QCE26 EasyChair Submission Site.

  • To submit the form, you must create an EasyChair Account if you don’t already have one. Of course, you can also use this account for your paper submission for QCE26.
 

Please note: Student volunteers must commit to travel to Toronto, Ontario, Canada, to participate in person at IEEE Quantum Week 2026. Travel to the conference and accommodations in Toronto are not included in this offer.

There are no remote volunteer opportunities.

QCE26 Student Volunteer Application Signup Form

To become a QCE26 student volunteer, submit the Student Volunteer Application Signup Form to the QCE26 EasyChair submission website in the form of a PDF file. 

The Student Volunteer Application Signup Form asks for the following information, in the order specified below:

  1. Student volunteer name  — full name, affiliation, and email of the student volunteer.
  2. Graduate advisor name  — full name, affiliation of the student volunteer’s graduate advisor.
  3. General quantum interests of student volunteers — quantum interests (cf. QCE26 Topics) to facilitate assignments of volunteers to tracks; enter at least three quantum interest keywords in the Keywords box of the EasyChair upload form.
  4. Volunteer day preferences  — Sun/Sep 13, Mon/Sep 14, Tue/Sep 15, Wed/Sep 16, Thu/Sep 17, Fri/Sep 18; enter at least three days/dates in the Title box of the EasyChair upload form.
  5. Student volunteer preferences for tracks and tasks — tutorials, workshops or technical paper tracks; registration desk; exhibits & posters.
  6. Other pertinent information —any other information that you would like to share with the QCE26 organization team.

Important Student Volunteer Requirements

  • All QCE26 participants, including student volunteers, must register for the IEEE Quantum Week 2026.
  • By submitting your Student Volunteer Application Signup Form to IEEE Quantum Week 2026, you are committing to register for the full conference and attend the conference in person upon acceptance as a student volunteer. Upon approval, you will receive a discount code for your complimentary student volunteer registration.
  • Please note that IEEE Quantum Week 2026 will make every effort to assign volunteers to the track preferences and tasks listed on the application form. However, QCE26 cannot guarantee to honour all volunteers’ exact requests
